HOWARD GLASSROTH

Howard Glassroth is the founder and principal of The Glassroth Company, which specializes in reputation management and public profile communication strategies. With over twenty years as an agency and corporate communications executive, Mr. Glassroth is recognized for his expertise in planning and executing strategic communications and marketing programs across a broad range of industries. He has planned and directed critical communications during mergers/acquisitions, emerging legislation, community protests, public crisis and management changes. He has also devised research-based marketing programs to position organizations appropriately with key internal and external constituents, developed Internet and Intranet sites and represented senior management with important audiences, and he has served on numerous trade association committees in the energy, media and healthcare industries. His skills and expertise assist clients to develop the proper market identity and retain their painstakingly built public profiles when reputations are under attack.

Corporate Communications Experience:

Mr. Glassroth has served as Vice President, Communications for The American Resort Development Association, a Washington, D.C.-based trade association, as well as Vice President, Marketing & Communications for ValueOptions, the nation's largest privately owned managed behavioral healthcare company with revenues of approximately $1 billion. He has also held the position of Vice President, Public Affairs at Warner Cable Communications (a division of Time Warner), where he created and executed programs in support of the company's marketing/advertising objectives, emerging issues management, community and employee relations, and public profile. As Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Ameritrust Corporation (predecessor of KeyCorp), he designed and managed marketing communications strategies and internal communications for the integration of acquired banks and their cultures. He oversaw corporate branding functions and was responsible for employee communications, public relations and public policy issues, as well as the communications associated with restructuring, legislative oversight, community and CRA activities.

Mr. Glassroth directed external communications for The Standard Oil Company (formerly SOHIO, now BP Amoco) and was instrumental in the expansion of the company's media relations program to a global level. His role included identifying and managing company and industry issues, strategic positioning, environmental crisis management and corporate matters such as regulatory issues, mergers/acquisitions and restructurings. He also developed the SOHIO Cleveland Orchestra radio network.

PR Agency Experience:

Mr. Glassroth has extensive experience developing and managing public relations, crisis management, branding strategies, marketing and financial communications, and public affairs programs for domestic and international companies across a broad spectrum of industry groups, consulting clients on competitive positioning, and media relations.

As Senior Vice President at Ogilvy Adams & Rinehart, he counseled Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette on its entrance into the Asia/Pacific region, Madrid-based Banco Santander on international positioning programs, and Mercedes-Benz NA with new product marketing support strategies. As Vice President with Robinson Lake Lerer & Montgomery, his clients included Chrysler Corporation, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cablevision Systems and Prudential Securities.


Journalism Experience:

Prior to his corporate experience, Mr. Glassroth was a broadcast journalist. He was a writer, producer and news director, and managed various local and network television news operations. His industry recognition includes two Emmy nominations.

Education:

Mr. Glassroth received his M.B.A. from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from City University of New York, Queens College. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honor Society.
